Goodnoe Hills, WA
Goodnoe Hills is located east of the Columbia Hills region
of southern Washington
over looking the Columbia River Gorge. The site is located at an elevation of
2540 ft. and is equipped with a tower with sensors at 50 and 195 feet. The
tower and sensors have been in the same location since they were installed in
May 1980. The winds at the site are generally dictated by large scale
pressure differences between the Pacific and the interior of Oregon and Washington,
and by the channeling effects of the gorge. The time series of monthly means
for the entire period of record for both levels of the Goodnoe Hills site can
be found in the figure below.
