OSU Energy Resources Research Laboratory

Vansycle, OR

The Vansycle site is located in north eastern Oregon - nearest town is Helix.  It is located at an elevation of 1780 feet just to the north of the Portland General Electric/FPL Vansycle 25 MW wind farm on the Vansycle ridge off of Butler Grade road. This site was instrumented in late July 2002 and became operational August 2, 2002.  It has MET ONE sonic anemometers installed at the 98, 146, and 201 ft. levels with a RM Young Wind Monitor propvane anemometer installed at the 101 ft. level and 205 ft level.  This site is sponsored by BPA and through the NREL STEP program for the period 2002-2005.
