OSU Energy Resources Research Laboratory Wasco, OR. Wasco was added to the network on September 6, 2005. An R. M. Young Wind Monitor was installed at the 100 foot level of an existing microwave tower located in north-east Oregon, several miles west of the town of Wasco. The area consists of rolling hills of mostly open terrain with several small canyons and gorges. Monthly mean wind speed values for the site are shown in the figure below.
