Mechanical Engineering Machine Shop

In the Mechanical Engineering Machine Shop, we strive to help our students develop the skills necessary to achieve their utmost potential in the field of engineering. The skills they develop in the shop, along with those they obtain in the classroom, prepare our graduates to either continue their education at the graduate level or in a professional engineering setting. The Mechanical engineering department boasts 20 full-time faculty members, who help students develop the theoretical side of their education while also working on and array of research projects.

It is our responsibility to help students develop the practical side of their engineering education. We provide a wide range of machining capabilities for our students to build the skills they will use in numerous mechanical engineering professions. Allowing students to learn these skills during their education here at OSU, rather than after, gives them a head start upon graduation.

Here at the Mechanical Engineering Machine Shop, our goal is to provide students with the best education, equipment, and an open environment to come and work. We like to think of ourselves as individual, self-motivated thinkers; and we want our students to feel the same way.
