ENGINEERS WEEK BANQUET: FREE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE

A few industry-sponsored student tickets are still available for tonight’s Willamette Valley National Engineers Week Banquet, happening at 6 pm in the CH2M Hill Alumni Center. The keynote speaker is Dr. Carolyn Duran of Intel Corp. This banquet is open to ALL CoE students—any major, men and women, freshman to grad—and is an excellent opportunity to network with working engineers and professionals from throughout the Willamette Valley. Mon, Feb 26: EWB General Meeting. 6-7 pm, Peavy 272. Our guest speaker will discuss the grant writing process with us, which should prove highly informative and also help us with some upcoming grant writing that we need to do as a chapter. And, as always, we will have pizza.

Wed, Mar 7: WME Afternoon Tea with Dr. Belinda Batten, Professor and Department Head of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering. This event is part of the WME “Lunch and Learn” series. Are there things you want to know about the COE? Or whether grad school right for you? Or what it’s like to work in a male-dominated profession? Or for that matter, what mechanical, industrial, and/or manufacturing engineers really do? Here's your chance to meet informally with a leader of the College of Engineering, ask questions, and share your ideas! All engineering students are welcome. Beverages and sweet treats provided.

Wed, Mar 14: IME 2007 Senior Project Presentation, 6–8 pm, Building 60, Xerox–Wilsonville. Event features a 6-7 pm poster session and, from 7 to 7:45, formal presentations by the three top project teams.

Wed, Mar 29–Fri, Mar 31: 2007 American Nuclear Society Student Conference, held at Oregon State University this year. Open to all who are interested in attending. WIN AN IPOD! As a Linn Benton Food Share fundraiser, the OSU Office of Admissions is holding a raffle for a 4 GB IPOD. Tickets sales will run Feb 12 Thru Feb 28. Prices are $1 per ticket or $5 for 6 tickets. Ticket Sales Location: Office of Admissions, Kerr 104 Administration Bldg. Drawing will be held Thursday March 1, 2007. You need not be present to win.
