and Post-Doc Positions ME Undergrads: Want to Teach a Section of ME 101 Next
Fall? We’re looking for some enthusiastic,
fun-loving, competitive, intelligent, communicative, and hard working
undergraduates to help teach Mechanical Engineering Orientation (ME 101) in
Fall ’07—and
GET PAID for the experience. We need students to run one or more
recitation sections. Fall ’07 ME 101 recitation
sections meet on Tuesdays at 10 am, noon, and 2 pm and on Wednesdays at 8 am,
10 am, noon, and 2 pm. If you’re
interested, check your class schedule for Fall term. If you’d be available to run at least one ME
101 section and would also be
available for the weekly TA training sessions (held on Fridays, 8–10 am during
Fall term), please contact Dr. Joe Zaworski ASAP at jrz@engr.orst.edu. ME
and IME Polos and T-Shirts are In! If you put in an ME or IME shirt order earlier this term, come
to Caliper Lounge (Rogers 438) between 11 am and 3 pm on Monday 3/12 or Tuesday 3/13 to pick it up.
If you did not order a shirt or a polo but would like one, we have a few

President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Please send your
nominations to douglas.vanbossuyt@gmail.com before 5 pm on March 12, or bring them
with you to the meeting. You may nominate someone else or yourself; but
note that both you and whomever you nominate must be chapter members in good
standing. Voting is also restricted to
members in good standing. If you're not sure of your membership status,
please check with EWB membership coordinator Andy Sabalowsky (sabaloan@engr.orst.edu). Dues may be paid to Andy up

Mar 12: Free Public Forum on
Nanotechnology. 7–9 pm, U of O Erb Memorial Union Gumwood Room. The aim of
the forum is to engage the public in exploring the societal benefits and
potential risks of nanotechnology. Brief presentations on what nanoscience is,
how it can benefit society, and its possible risks, will befollowed by small
group discussions where the participants will weigh the benefits and risks of
nanotechnology in the context of nanoparticle-based solar cells. For more

Sponsored Programs & Research Compliance Workshop. 9:30–10:30 am, MU 211. (This workshop was originally scheduled for Nov 27, 2006.) Step-by-step primer on how to prepare a proposal budget. Each of the major line items in a typical budget will be discussed in detail; important topics such as cost-sharing and allowability of costs will also be addressed. Pointers on how to get a proposal approved by the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Compliance quickly and efficiently will also be presented. Compliance Workshop. 9:30–11 am, MU 211. This workshop will introduce using Grants.gov for proposal submission. Grants.gov allows organizations to electronically find and apply for competitive grant opportunities from all Federal grant-making agencies. Stephen Nigro’s organization is responsible for Imaging and Printing Group’s graphic businesses, generating new imaging system businesses, and developing new printing and non-printing technologies. Graphic and Imaging Business Unit (GIB) leads the strategy to capture high-value pages by developing compelling solutions for the industrial, commercial printing and graphics segments. Homes, Roger worked for his father, Don Pollock, for four years at Northland
Homes, Inc. At Northland Homes, he was in charge of all aspects of construction
including supervising all job sites, overseeing the construction of hundreds of
homes, developing a scheduling system and writing a construction manual that he
