OSU MECHANICAL ENGINEERING E-BULLETIN for the week
of September 26, 2005 Welcome to
the first day of the 2005-06 academic year and the inaugural issue of the ME Department's
weekly e-bulletin. New this year, the ME Bulletin is a one-stop source of
information about department events, announcements, scholarships, job
postings, student club updates, and other department-related items. Each
issue will also be posted on the ME web site. The
e-bulletin is a work in progress, and your feedback and suggestions on
form, content, and official name are welcome. Please send your
comments to ME Communications Coordinator Tracy Ann Robinson (tracy.ann.robinson@oregonstate.edu). Submissions
of information to be included in the e-bulletin should also
be sent to Tracy Ann Robinson. Items received by Wednesday of any
given week will appear in the next week's issue. Message from ME

to all new students, faculty, and staff, and welcome back to those returning! I
hope that everyone had a great summer and is ready for an exciting new year.
Please do look to this e-bulletin for important announcements as well as points
of interest. It's just one of the additions to the department that we hope will

The Austin Entrepreneurship Program (AEP) at
Weatherford Hall is a unique collaboration between the Colleges of Business and
Engineering. It is dedicated to
developing entrepreneurial thinking – and incubating, testing, and launching
new companies founded by students, faculty and others. Through a formal and informal curriculum the
program enables students to live, study, work, and dream together…sharing
ideas, thinking creatively and learning practical life skills through hands on
experience. The AEP is the most ambitious program of its kind in the world.
This seminar will provide an overview of the AEP, an update of activities to
date, and a forum for ANNOUNCEMENTS Gitte

joined Mechanical Engineering as our new Graduate Programs Specialist,
replacing Amy Flint who has moved over to the Registrar’s Office. Gitte
is a longtime OSU employee, coming to us from OSU’s
Military Science–ROTC Department where she provided excellent student services,
student/advisor scheduling, event planning, and reception and clerical
support. Please join us in welcoming Gitte at the Main Office

Mini Baja Senior Design meetings will be held on Tuesdays @ 4 pm in SCHOLARSHIPS The
American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers,
Inc. (ASHRAE) offers a number of scholarships to undergraduate engineering
students. Application deadlines are December 1
